Academic Programming

Academic Programs

At Hit the Books, academics are at the center of everything we do. Our goal is to prepare students in grades 2-8 with the academic skills, learning habits, and confidence they need to improve proficiency in literacy and math to increase their long term outcomes in life.

Hit the Books uses small-group instruction, individualized learning plans, and consistent progress monitoring; students receive targeted support that meets them where they are while challenging them to grow.

Personalized Learning

Every student follows an individualized learning pathway based on academic performance and ongoing assessment. Our staff identifies each student's strengths, areas for growth, and next learning goals.

Students participate in daily academic instruction designed to strengthen foundational skills while building grade-level proficiency in reading and mathematics.

Academic Support

Our program combines:

  • Small group literacy and math instruction

  • Individualized tutoring and intervention

  • Personalized learning

  • Homework assistance

  • Reading comprehension and writing activities

  • Math fluency and problem-solving

  • Executive functioning and study skills

Our Academic team uses student data to monitor progress throughout the year and adjust instruction to ensure every student continues moving forward.

Beyond Tutoring

Academic success requires more than strong grades. Students also develop the habits that support long-term achievement, including organization, perseverance, responsibility, communication, and self-advocacy.

By combining academics with mentorship and youth development, we help students become confident learners both inside and outside the classroom.

Our vision is simple: every student deserves the opportunity to enter high school academically prepared, confident, and ready for what comes next.
