SOCIAL EMOTIONAL LEARNING

At Hit the Books, we believe academic success begins with strong social and emotional skills. Students learn how to understand and manage their emotions, build healthy relationships, make responsible decisions, and develop the confidence to overcome challenges.

Our Social Emotional Learning (SEL) program is embedded throughout the student experience. Through advisory groups, restorative conversations, team-building activities, leadership opportunities, and daily interactions with caring adults, students strengthen the skills needed to succeed both in school and in life.

Our SEL curriculum focuses on five core competencies:

  • Self-Awareness

  • Self-Management

  • Social Awareness

  • Relationship Skills

  • Responsible Decision Making

Grounded in Hit the Books' core values of Discipline, Ambition, Compassion, Commitment, and Resilience, our program helps students develop the character, confidence, and emotional intelligence needed to become successful learners, leaders, and community members.
